QWhat functions do the Searcher2/Searcher Control stacks provide ?
    A

    Searcher2:

    • Site-wide Searching:  A "Site-wide Searching" control is provided that allows you to enter the relative path to pages that contain searchable content.  These will be the pages that Searcher2 imports.  Enter the relative paths as a comma-separated list with double quotes around each entry. Ex. "a.html","b/b.html"
    • Place Content Stack(s) Anywhere:  Content can be placed in the body, sidebar, Extra Content Areas and any other areas that allow html code.  Areas to be searched will have search terms that you assign.  An "Outside Main Body" control is provided if content is to be placed outside the main body and also provides link button sizing for those outside.
    • Place Controller Stack Anywhere:  The Controller Stack can be placed almost anywhere on a page.  See: Searcher Control setup.
    • Hide Content Initially:  A control is provided to hide all the searchable content when the page loads, thus keeping the page initially free of searchable content until a selection is made.  Note: content will be revealed if a delete or escape key is entered in the input box - which people often use to refresh the selection list.
    • Automated Selection List:  A dynamic selection list of all available search terms is generated for the visitor.
    • Auto-resize & List Reveal:  Upon clicking in the search box, the search box is expanded to assist in easy input and the selection list is revealed displaying all the search terms.
    • Auto-minimize on Selection:  When a search term from the selection list is clicked on, the selection list and search box is minimized to allow the user to focus attention on the search results.  A click anywhere outside of the search box will also auto-minimize Searcher Control and close the selection list.
    • Supports Assignment of Multiple Search Terms:  Searcher Content areas can be assigned as many different search terms as desired - just separate them with a comma in the Searcher Term(s) input box within the Searcher2 Content stacks.
    • Link Buttons:  In order to allow users to get to the pages where the content originated, link buttons have been provided.  These can be styled through color, background gradients, width, alignment, text color, size and shadow controls.  A master control is provided to hide all link buttons in the control page, if so desired.  These buttons will not appear on the originating pages, as there is no need for them there.  When assigning links, remember that the link paths will be relative to the Control Page.  If the Control & Content pages are both in the same folder or in the root site folder, then you can select the link using the "Page" selector from the Add Link window.  If the Content page is in a different folder, then use the "URL" selector to type in the relative path from the Control page to the Content Page.
    • Reveal Control:  A selection of colors is provided for the dropdown reveal arrow to help color-coordinate your site.
    • Font Control:  Text fonts can be individually assigned to the Label, Input, Results and Link Buttons through a selection of 20 fonts plus a theme default setting to pick up any special fonts the theme offers.
    • Compact Design:  The search controls are designed for a compact and clean look.  The default (stand-by mode) is just 106px wide x 22px high and in temporary expanded mode is only 200px wide x 128px high.  If the search label is not desired, a control is available to turn it off.
    • Complete Color Control:  Easy-to-use color controls have been provided for all the various elements - see the Searcher Info for more details.
